Summary

A homeowner in Whitley Bay needed a safe and compliant electric vehicle (EV) charger setup. The project involved careful planning to route cables through lived-in spaces and deliver a solution that would meet building regulations and future-proof the property.

The Work

Completed all required paperwork and submitted an application to the DNO
Installed a dedicated EV distribution board next to the main electric meter
Routed 4mm Twin and Earth cable through the hallway ceiling and cupboard to the front of the property
Installed data cable to support charger load management
Fitted and commissioned the client-supplied EV charger, tested the full circuit, and issued the necessary electrical and Part P certificates

The Outcome

The property is now equipped for reliable EV charging with all safety checks completed. The installation passed building regulations, letting the homeowner charge their vehicle with confidence.
