Summary

A homeowner in Newcastle wanted to add an EV charger to their property. They needed a safe, compliant installation that would work with their existing setup and meet all current regulations.

The Work

Submitted the required EV charger application form to the DNO
Installed an external IP rated EV distribution board by the electric meter
Fitted Henley blocks in the meter cupboard to split the supply for a new consumer unit
Routed 13 metres of EV Ultra cable around the property wall to the charger location
Installed and commissioned the client-supplied EV charger
Completed all electrical testing and provided both an Electrical Installation Certificate and Part P Building Regulations compliance certificate

The Outcome

The property is now ready for EV charging, with all equipment installed safely and in line with regulations. The homeowner can charge their vehicle confidently, knowing the system has been properly tested and certified.
